Oh boy.

It's lazy Saturday and it feels great to take my time to do what ever I want. So far I've cleaned my disasterously messy bedroom and read a little bit of homework. Oh yeah. Now I'm just sitting here listening and singing to Barbra Streisand music. (She's the best!! and Daddy, I don't even care if she's an anal democratic staunch or whatever you said. ha ha :) ) Anyway so I've had quite the week. I have been typing on my little computer for four days straight!!!! (Midterms. I don't really have to say anything more than that.) For one I had to come up with Ten lesson plans to teach students how to write persuasively using the book Northanger Abbey. At least I got to choose my own book. For the other one, I had to write a short story. I'll tell you one thing, I am NO GOOD at short stories. It ended up being twenty pages long and I had to cut it off short and delete a lot of scenes. It also has a horrible ending. All because I ran out of time to finish it. Yeah. Not a short story writer, or, maybe it was just not a short idea.... Who knows. Any way, so last night I decided to reward myself for my persistent hard work ( I didn't even allow myself to watch The Nanny!! my new favorite show) by going to a dance with my roommate. I went a little bit late (Moby Dick was on TV!) and while I wandered the crowded room full of laughing, sweaty people, I became painfully aware of how many people I do not know. All I could do was walk around, swaying to the music by myself, and giggle because I knew how ridiculous I must've seemed. I finally found her and her friends, and hung out with them for the rest of the night. Boy did it feel good to be with recognizable people. Please people! Do not take the people you know for granted! Without them, you would be just like me, wandering around somewhere pretending you know exactly what you're doing, but it's obvious that you don't. By the way, this was a super hero dance and I painted a sweet mask on my face with makeup. Here's a picture of it. Well, I think that's everything new for me. Back to the books. Poetry paper due monday. Boo to that. Well See ya!!!

Books and Books and Books

Hello! So remember how I said I was going to read Moby Dick? Yeah that didn't happen. Once again, I got very distracted by a wonderful new book that I found for 20% off! ha ha It's called The Choice by Nicholas Sparks. Oh man!! It is so wonderful! It's a pretty quick read too. But beware, if you've never read a Nicholas Sparks book before, I have to warn you that they are going to pull on your heart as well as your eyes. Yes you will probably tear up a little bit, and if not, you'll still be really sad, but don't worry, the endings are happy as well as sad. But read it!!! Read it!! So so so good! I just finished it today. It was so good that i read it while I was supposed to be paying attention in my Education in Society class. It's a good thing that class has about 200 people in it.
So, my next exciting project is to write a short story for my creative writing class. I am having a really hard time sitting down and writing down all the ideas spinning around in my head. I've got the whole story line there, but getting it out in words that the average person (that isn't me) can understand is real hard!! It's due really soon too! Any advice? My story is based on one of my favorite movies and fairy tales. The tale is Snow White, and the movie is The Seattle Children's Theatre's Production of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. (I love that movie). The only difference is that it takes place in modern times and there is no magic. It's much more difficult than I thought, turning one of my favorite stories into a believable series of events. Oh Dear. So people, if you've got some kind of story writing advice, spit it out man!!!
Well, I guess that's it for now. By the way, I like getting comments on what I write on here so if you feel the need :) Please do. Oh! I am so excited because I get to come home this weekend and I can't wait!! yay!!! Uh... yep well, See ya

This is for everyone who says they want the clean freak

This is getting insane!! I feel like things are going to implode here in apartment 102. oh man!!! I'm beginning to fear for my life. I just want to stay safe in my little sanctuary away from all the cursing and screaming, with my little fish in his little bowl. Seriously. It all began last night when one of my roommates left two large pans in the sink. Normal right? she didn't want to wash them immediately, so she was saving them to do in the morning.(because she has no class on tuesdays). Normal. that's what I thought anyway. Then, another one comes out and warns us that if they didn't get washed then the "clean one" would be mad. She still wanted to save her dishes, so she did. After she went to bed, the "warning one" wandered out to the kitchen and did the dishes herself. The funny thing was, she put DISH SOAP in the washer instead of DISHWASHER DETERGENT. ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha :)

I don't see how someone could mix those up, but.... It happened. ha ha Anyway, so I wandered out to get a drink of water, and saw the dishwasher spewing out loads upon loads of bubbles all over the floor! I ran and got the"warning one" and the "clean one" came out eventually. We cleaned up that mess for about an hour!! It was so funny and I laughed the whole time, trying to lighten the terrifying heaviness coming from my more pessimistic roommates. After it was all done, the bashing started. Since I was with the cleaning people, they went on and on about how our place is constantly a disaster (NO) and how crumbs are on the counters sometimes and how leaving a dish in the sink is unacceptable. I stood there, listening and trying to be supportive of their opinion. I tried to explain that we are all different, and we need to accomodate each other, and not just one person. I am a messy person, and becoming some kind of spotless OCD person is not going to happen. I can keep stuff organized, but perfect every second? Can't do it man! Can't do it. The other three feel the same way I do. I'm not even allowed to keep my loaf of bread neatly on the counter top so there's room for my other food in my small cupboard. They just keep stuffin' it back in there. I'm not sure what to do about this!! They even keep doing my dishes for me!! I come home from class, ready to make lunch and clean up, and my dishes are all gone and put in other people's drawers. Lame lame lame lame lame. It feels as though we all must adjust to this one girl's perfectionism, but she cannot adjust to our lifestyles. It's very overwhelming for us more laid-back girls. WOw. Well, I hope blogs are meant for me to write a whole bunch of stuff that i can't tell anyone around here, so I hope you enjoy it. ha ha . Here are some pictures of the most hilarious Bubble cleaning up event ever. :)

normal roommate stuff

So, I know that roommate stories are super cliche but who cares. It never stops being funny. So, I have a roommate who is a total clean freak. Our kitchen is completely spotless. All the time. Now don't get me wrong, it's a good thing. Really. Being tidy is very useful, it prevents the build up of germs and countless sicknesses that six girls could possibly float around their kitchen. It's nice. Anyway so this roommate, I secretly call her Queen of the Kitchen to anyone who doesn't live with me, is constantly washing all of our dishes. It's kind of annoying really. We'll eat breakfast, pop our cereal bowls into the sink, rush of to class, and when we come back a few hours later, the sink is empty. I always wonder why because, naturally I was planning to do my dishes after class, but I guess three hours is just too long for a bowl to hang out in a large sink. Odd.
Well, today when I came home from class, I opened the door to a big whiff of chemicals, all the furniture moved away from the tables, and said roommate vigorously scrubbing and vacuuming. " Uh... Deep cleanin' today?" I curiously said as i walked over to the hall that leads to my bedroom. " There was gum!" was the unexpected answer I recieved. "Gum?" I asked back.
" There was Gum on the floor!"
"Where?" I asked, thinking it was smooshed into the carpet underneath the sofa or something.
"Right next to the trash can in the kitchen! I have to leave a note for everyone. This is riddiculous!" she practically shouted to the vacuum. (I'm sure she was talking to me though)
So.. She tore up the entire kitchen and living room because she found a small piece of gum on the floor, next to the trashcan, that someone probably accidently missed when they tried to chuck it in. (probably me)
Now, in our always spotless kitchen, there is a sign that literally reads, " Keep Kitchen Clean!! Don't Forget To Clean Up After Yourself!!" Hmm.... I wonder what bee got in her bonnett?
ha ha. this just keeps getting more and more interesting as time goes on.

What do I do?

Well, having a lot of spare time in a lonely, practically foreign place, I do a whole lot of ... what?... yes . Reading. It's a good thing I like reading right? I've read one book per week. Is that a lot? I think so. I've Read Northanger Abbey by Jane Austen, Fairest by Gail Carson Levine, and The Wednesday Letters by Jason F. Wright. They're all real good. I'd recommend them all. But.. If you're going to read Fairest, I would pick Ella Enchanted instead. It's just plain better. Magical even. I know it's for like 8-14 year olds but... who cares right :)
I am going to try to get through Moby Dick this week.
I've also had a lot of time to watch my favorite movies!! I've watched my entire collection of Doris Day films, Rocky, and Rambo too. I hate to say it, but I'm kind of sick of them all. I've seen them so much. "Congratulations universe. You win". OH!!! If you've never seen the Donna Reed show, you must!! It's my new favorite TV series. I love that old stuff.
Someday I'll explain why.
Here's some pictures of my stuff. I don't care if you don't care to see them. You're gonna see them.

Uh... I've never done this before

So... I'm not sure how this is going to work but, we'll give it a try I guess. So I am officially starting a blog now. I think it'll mostly help me feel included with everyone that I am like a gazillion miles away from. So here it is.
I am just going to start my 4th week at SUU. So far I just love it. It's so much fun :)
It is hard though because well, I don't know a soul!! AAAHHH!! Thankfully I have pretty awesome roommates and we all hang out often. I do get homesick though :( What can I say? I am just a home-body after all.
Well, I think that does for an acceptable introduction. So there you go.
